Taking Pictures with Toddlers!

Taking pictures with Littles is not easy! The number one thing is to make taking photos fun! Sometimes we have little parties where we just celebrate a half birthday or whatever to take our milestone photo!

I found this great little chair at a garage sale years ago and it’s been an amazing prop! You don’t always see it in a photo but we’re definitely using it in the background! My kids love to climb and this is a great prop! I always put pictures outside because the lighting is just typically better!

Here are some simple ideas!

1. Inside, use natural light and ban the flash! But I prefer OUTSIDE!

2. If have an extra phone or camera keep a video rolling behind you on a tripod

3.Get closer! Always have a prop like a lovey or shaker !

4. Get down to their level and be playful never frustrated !

5. Be opened minded and know it might not work .

6. Re dos are ok .

7. A straw! I know it weird but my photographer would use this so my son would stand by it and he always just stands by it …. so just try it out!

8. And finally I use Chatbooks! Chatbooks are ways that you can capture memories in a book easily off your phone! I literally make these books with tons of smiling pictures of the kids and throughout the photo shoot I remind them let’s look like this and they literally mimic the photo ….. it was probably the most genius mom hack yet!

By no means am I a pro in photography but it’s been a passion of many years!

From the dark rooms as as kid to being featured at art fairs!

Now that my kids are little I just wanna capture these moments and in the best way !

so these are some tips that have worked for me! Make sure to check the out @chatbooks and use my code STEALS for 20% off!

These are Chatbooks lately I’ve just been buying too so we don’t have any fighting😂
